Pariza named program’s first CGA, ECAC gymnast of the week

DANBURY, Conn. – Sterling Pariza of the Simpson College men's gymnastics team has been named Gymnast of the Week by both the College Gymnastics Association and Eastern College Athletic Conference, becoming the program's first weekly award winner.

Pariza started his sophomore season competing in all six events. He hit 6-for-6 and finished second in the all-around against Michigan and Greenville. The Dallas, Texas native posted career highs on rings (13.000) and high bar (12.200) as well as a program record all-around score (76.900). He was a leading force behind Simpson's 25-point jump from the same meet last year.

The Storm are back in action this weekend at the Windy City Invite, where they will face Washington, Illinois, Northern Illinois and Michigan.
