Sesker named IIAC Golfer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Simpson golfer Korbin Sesker had a career-day despite challenging elements on the way to earning his first Iowa Conference Golfer of the Week honor, as announced by the league office Monday.
A junior from Johnston, Iowa, Sesker carded a 2-over 74 at the rain-shortened Graceland Spring Invitational at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville, Mo. on Friday, March 24. Sesker tied for seventh in the field of 64 golfers, just four strokes back of medalist Hunter Baggett of Culver-Stockton.
Simpson shot 313 as a team, good for sixth in the 10-team field. The second round of the tournament was cancelled due to rain.
Sesker's previous low round was 75, set twice during the fall season. The Storm are off until the Wartburg Spring Invitational at Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly on April 7-8.
