Men's basketball shoots lights out, beats Northwestern

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Charles Swain scored a game-high 17 points, DJ Dafney finished two points shy of a double-double and the Simpson men's basketball team beat Northwestern (Minn.) 71-56 on Friday, the first day of the ACR Homes Tip-Off Tournament.

Leif Olson came off the bench to score 10 points and Jamie Montgomery went a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arch as the Storm (2-1) led from wire-to-wire in the win.

Swain shot 5-for-8 from the field, helping the Storm shoot 50 percent from the field. Dafney scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Kyle Ooms scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Eagles (0-2).
