Preview: Storm look to bounce back against Illinois College

The Simpson football team looks to bounce back from last week's loss to Wis.-Stout when it hosts the Illinois College Blueboys in non-conference action from Buxton Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 9. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

The Storm (0-1) suffered a 17-0 loss to Wis.-Stout in week one while the Blueboys (0-1) lost a 33-32 heartbreaker to Rose Hulman.

A look at the Blueboys
Illinois College showcased an explosive passing game in week one on the arm of freshman Drew Chance, who went 32-for-59 for 353 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. His primary targets were Logan Uyetake and Kyle Obertino, who combined for 21 catches and 275 yards. The defense picked off four passes and placekicker Zack DeWeitt was named MWC Player of the Week after hitting a school-record 50-yard field goal.

The Series
Saturday marks just the second meeting between Simpson and Illinois College in a series that began last season. Simpson won the game 25-23 behind a school-record four field goals by Drew Jensen, including the go-ahead 28-yarder with 1:10 left. Sasso threw for 154 yards and a TD in a relief role.
