Storm swimmers compete in Morningside Triangular

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- For the second time in under 24 hours, the Simpson College swimming and diving teams were in the pool, this time competing against Morningside and St. Ambrose on Saturday.

A day after celebrating senior night, both the Storm men and women lost to the Mustangs and the Fighting Bees.

Alyssa Harris and Caroline Oberg collected the team's only top-three finishes in the triangular. Harris swam her way to second place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:29.76. Oberg hit the wall in 28.69 for third in the 50-yard freestyle.

Katie Cardoza ended fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle race, while Sarah Prendergast tallied fifth in the 200-yard freestyle. The group of Madison DePover, Riley Reece, Harris and Oberg produced a fifth-place showing in the 200-yard medley relay.

Blake Kakacek collected two top-10 showings to highlight his day during his three events.
