DES MOINES, Iowa – The Simpson women's soccer team saw its five-game winning streak come to a close on Tuesday in a 1-0, overtime loss to Grand View.
Meghan McCoy scored the game-winner 3 minutes and 21 seconds into overtime to give the Vikings (6-5-1) the win.
Megan Petersen made 10 saves in goal for the Storm (7-3), who suffered their first loss since a 1-0 defeat against Millikin on Sept. 8.
Grand View outshot Simpson 16-7 in the game, including 9-3 in the first half.
Amber Johnson and Heather Adolph each took two shots for the Storm, who return to conference play Thursday when they host Wartburg. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Buxton Stadium.
