CANTON, Mo. – Amber Johnson scored the only goal of the game, the defense turned in its fourth clean sheet of the season and the Simpson women's soccer team beat Culver- Stockton 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Johnson broke a scoreless tie in the 47th minute for the Storm (6-2), who extended their winning streak to four. Ashlee Krider assisted on the score, Johnson's third of the season.
Megan Petersen made three saves in goal for her 16th career shutout.
Mackenzie Little had four saves for the Wildcats (5-1-1), who were outshot 7-4.
Simpson opens the conference schedule Saturday when it travels to Cedar Rapids for a meeting with Coe. The Kohawks (5-2-1) lost to Elmhurst 2-0 on Wednesday.
