Heidelbauer slugs her way to A-R-C Player of the Week honor

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - After slugging over .500 with five home runs and 17 runs driven in, Megan Heidelbauer was named the American Rivers Conference Position Player of the Week on Monday.

The sophomore first baseman proved to be a force at the plate, going 18-for-35 in Simpson's final 10 Florida games, registering a team-leading five home runs and 17 RBIs. Heidelbauer finished those games with three doubles, three triples, 11 runs scored, three walks, and a perfect fielding percentage on 77 putouts.

Heidelbauer helped lead Simpson to a near perfect 13-1 record in Florida over the last week at The Spring Games. Simpson begins the year at 15-1, the best 16-game start since 2015 for the Storm.

Simpson returns to action on Wednesday, March 26 with A-R-C action at Dubuque with first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 2 p.m.
