Storm capture four titles at Spartan Twilight

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Simpson track and field team won four events at the Spartan Twilight on Friday night, the final tune up before next week's Iowa Conference Championships.

Elisa Wildy won the triple jump for the women and the men took home two individual wins and one relay title. Nick Yaeger won the 1500, Dylan Kalinay won the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x100-meter relay team of Kalinay, Davey Jergens, Triston Twedt and Tate Tufte also captured a win.

Wildy hit the sand in 31-feet, 10 1/4 inches to win the triple jump. Yaeger ran a career-best 4:07.21 to win the 1500 meters, just ahead of teammate Blake Willadsen (4:07.53, 3rd), who also ran a career-best race. Kalinay won the 110 hurdles in 14.92 and the 4x100-meter relay team ran a season-best time of 43.28.

The women's team also got a second-place finish from Bayley Fleshner in the 100 hurdles (14.76) and Sarah Galbraith in the high jump (4-8 3/4). Hannah Moulds placed third in the long jump (15-9 1/2) and had a career-best heave in the javelin to place fifth (94-10).

On the men's side, Isaac Frazier had a solid all-around day. He placed second with a career-best effort of 44-7 1/2 in the triple jump, took third in the high jump (6-3 1/4) and came in fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.96). Trevor McKee placed second in the 400 hurdles (57.28) and Miles Kirts ran a personal-best 1:59.18 to place fifth in the 800.
