Doswell, Storm blow past Augustana

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Darius Doswell scored two goals -- both on Donevan Roe assists -- and the Simpson men's soccer team dominated Augustana (Ill.) in a 3-0 win Sunday.

The Storm (4-2-1) snapped a two-game winless streak by controlling every facet of the game. Simpson outshot Augustana 25-4, attempted 12 more corner kicks and didn't allow a goal on frame.

Garrett Pochop scored the first goal of the game, finding the back of the net for the fourth-straight game to increase his IIAC-leading total to eight. Pochop beat the keeper and took advantage of the open net to give Simpson a 1-0 lead just 80 seconds into the game.

Doswell did the rest for the Storm. His first goal came in the ninth minute when he went far post after a perfect serve from Roe on the left wing. He made it 3-0 in the 67th minute when touches by Roe and Pochop allowed him to get his fourth goal of the season.

Chris Harris didn't need to make a save in the shutout. His counterpart, Corey Mankins made nine saves for the Vikings (2-4), who fell to 0-4 on the road in 2016.
