Simpson men's golf honors senior quartet

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson men's golf team is the final group of seniors to be recognized for their contributions to Storm athletics through the years.

Zach Kreider is the lone senior to have competed multiple seasons for head coach Tyler Christians as Gunnar Davis, Tanner Krueger and Rhett Murphy were set to tee off for the first time this spring.

Davis, Kreider and Krueger spent time in the fall suiting up for the Simpson football team, but Kreider still managed to participate in the Simpson Invitational on Sept. 25 to card an 85 to finish fourth on the squad.

Gunnar Davis
• Senior from Monroe, Iowa
• First season on men's golf team, did not appear in a match
• Member of the football team
• Majoring in multimedia communications and minoring in sports communication

Zach Kreider
• Senior from Norwalk, Iowa
• Competed for two seasons on the men's golf team
• Played in seven rounds as a junior and one round as a senior this past fall
• Tallied a career average of 92.0 in those eight rounds
• Shot an 85 in his only round as a senior at the Simpson Invitational on Sept. 25, 2019
• Member of the football team
• Majoring in mathematics and physics
• Plans to work as a mechanical engineer at PowerPollen after graduation

Tanner Krueger
• Senior from Waverly, Iowa
• First season on men's golf team, did not appear in a match
• Member of the football team
• Majoring in sports communication with a minor in business management

Rhett Murphy
• Senior from Mount Ayr, Iowa
• First season on men's golf team, did not appear in a match
• Majoring business management and economics: finance, with a minor in health services leadership
• Plans to attend graduate school after graduation
