Men's golf conclude Midwest Region Classic

GALENA, Ill. -- On day two of the Midwest Region Classic, the Simpson men's golf team shot a 366, five strokes higher than yesterday, but fell to 35th place to finish out on Saturday.

Leading the way once again for the Storm was junior Nathan Eaton by shooting an 83. Eaton finished tied for 67th in the total rankings.

Two of the five golfers on the team dropped shots off of their scorecards in day two of action. Sophomore Lucas Hemphill improved by five strokes with an 87. Hemphill finished second for the Storm tied for 171st. Freshman Derek Maxfield took off three strokes from his day one score. Freshman Hogan Rockhold finished his first weekend of collegiate men's golf with a tied for 176th-place finish.

The Storm will be back in action next weekend in Pella, Iowa as they compete in the Norm Ryerson Golf Invite hosted at Bos Landen Golf Course starting Friday afternoon.
