
Storm fall to Kohawks in final road game
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Simpson College football team fell 47-10 to Coe in its final road game of the year.
Aiden Lanier put Simpson (4-5, 3-4 A-R-C) on the board with a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter after an 11-play, 45-yard drive. Coe (9-1, 7-1 A-R-C) responded early in the second quarter with a two-yard rushing touchdown by Trenton Barnes, followed by a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brady Kelly to Jeron Senters. Another two-yard rushing score by Barnes pushed Coe's lead to 19-3 before halftime.
The third quarter saw Coe pull further ahead, starting with a 90-yard touchdown pass from Kelly to Devon Kollasch. The Kohawks then scored on a blocked punt as well as a 39-yard interception return by Henry Ryan. Tre'Sean Cunningham extended the lead to 47-3 before Cole Staska caught a four-yard touchdown pass from J Jensen III to cap a 10-play, 65-yard drive.
