Storm fall to Nebraska Wesleyan in road finale

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Simpson College football team was defeated by Nebraska Wesleyan 44-14 in the team's final road match of the season on Saturday afternoon.

Nebraska Wesleyan (4-4, 2-4 A-R-C) scored a touchdown in each quarter and went a perfect 3-for-3 in field goal attempts to move past the Storm (1-8, 1-6 A-R-C). The Prairie Wolves put up 440 yards of total offense compared to the Storm's 230 and forced three turnovers.

Both of the Storm's scores came on the ground as Desmond Alexander tied the game in the first quarter with a rush up the middle and Hunter Ogle found paydirt for the eighth time this season on a five-yard carry near the end of the third quarter.

Brett Bobinet finished with 10 completions for 129 yards, Ogle carried the ball 21 times for 86 yards, and Cameron Jones led the receiving corp with four receptions for 65 yards while adding 60 yards on three kick-off returns.

Boston Draper forced a fumble and surpassed his previous career-high tackle mark of 15 with 17 total tackles to lead Simpson's defensive unit. Jaden Henrichs had a career-high 12 tackles, and Lanny Herzog and Wyatt Schaben each had nine.
