Women’s cross country tally 22nd at regionals

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Simpson women's cross country team ended its season with a 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday afternoon.

In front for the Storm was Cat Lucht, who ended with a time of 25.14.6 in 94th out of 209 runners that ended the race. Lucht was just two seconds behind her season-best time in a 6K. The next runner to cross the finish line for Simpson was Mackenzie Laughlin. Laughlin ended in 116th overall and had a time of 25:46.0.

Katie Murano and Emily Buchheit ran times that were separated by just one second. Murano, in 125th, completed her race in 25:58.5 while Buccheit's time was 25:59.6. Audrey Klein and Sophie Hall finished fourth and fifth, respectively, for the Storm.
