Maher named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson track and field athlete Jordan Maher earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, May 5.
A senior from Baxter, Iowa, Maher won the discus throw at the Fighting Scot Invitational in Monmouth, Ill. on Saturday. She also ran a personal-best time of 15.40 seconds to place second in the 100-meter hurdles and helped the Storm to a season-best time in the 4x100-meter relay (48.84). Maher anchored the relay, which placed second and recorded the second-fastest time in school history.
Maher and the Storm go to the Iowa Conference Championships this weekend, hosted by Loras and held Friday-Saturday, May 10-11 in Dubuque, Iowa.
