Women’s tennis splits home opener

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson women's tennis team split a pair of matches in its home opener Saturday, losing to conference foe Coe to start the day before blanking Bethany Lutheran in the nightcap.

The Storm (4-2) dominated Bethany Lutheran in the final match of the day, winning all singles matches in straight sets. Kelli Greiner, Kayla Reusche, Cassidy Bierbrodt, Sidney Griffith, Liz Nimmo and Megan Bradley were all winners in singles play.

Greiner and Reusche cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, Bierbrodt and Griffith had little trouble in an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles and Nimmo and Kelly Kuebler held on for an 8-5 win at No. 3. 

Simpson couldn't get a win against the five-time defending Iowa Conference champion Kohawks.
