Women’s golf closes fall in A-R-C Championships

AMES, Iowa -- The Simpson College women's golf team closed its fall season with a seventh-place performance in the American Rivers Conference Championships on Monday, hosted at the Ames Golf and Country Club.

The Storm produced a three-day total of 1083, highlighted by a weekend-low 348 on the final day of competition. Dubuque took home its third-straight A-R-C Championship after clipping Central by seven strokes and Wartburg ended third.

Freshman Madeline Streicher finished in a two-way tie for 19th after carding a 252. Streicher shot a 78 on the final day for her best at the event. Classmate Taylor Elam shot a 270 and a season-low 85 on Monday.

Sophomore Sydney Stephenson carded 35th place with two 91s and senior Averi Peck ended in a tie for 37th. Peck trimmed three strokes off last season's result in the A-R-C Championships. Sophomore Hannah Mulligan finished 40th after shooting 38 strokes lower than last season's performance.
