Storm card fifth at Luther Invitational

DECORAH, Iowa -- Freshman Madeline Streicher carded a 173 to tie for sixth for her fourth straight top-six placing to begin the season as Simpson College women's golf took home fifth in the Luther Invitational on Sunday.

On the first day, Streicher sat in sixth with an 85 and finished the invite with an 88. Sophomore Sydney Stephenson just missed the top 10 by tying for 13th with four golfers. She shot a two-day sum of 179 with a low of 88 on day one.

Freshman Taylor Elam stayed consistent by carding a 93 on each day for 186 to tie in 20th. Senior Averi Peck ended fourth for Simpson and sophomore Hannah Mulligan rounded out the squad by trimming two strokes off her opening-round score on the final day.

Up Next
The Storm host their own invitational on Wednesday at the Indianola Country Club. Competition will begin at 10 a.m.
