Storm split weekend in Illinois

ELSAH, Ill. -- The Simpson men's tennis team surpassed last season's win total with a Saturday split, beating Wis.-Lutheran 9-0 and falling to host Principia 9-0.

The Storm improved to 6-4 on the year with the win over the Warriors, surpassing last year's five wins with 11 matches remaining.

Sam Dykstra, Zach Nelson, AJ Jackson and Karson Richardson all won in straight sets in the singles competition against Wis.-Lutheran. Adam Weiser and Brett Dewerff won tiebreakers to complete the sweep.

In doubles, Dykstra and Nelson won 8-2 at No. 1, Dewerff and Matt Turnley won 8-4 at No. 2 and Aaron Smith and Reade Reiter won 8-4 at No. 3.

Up Next
The Storm are off until March 24 when they travel to Eastern Iowa for road matches at Cornell and Coe.
