Smith reaches quarterfinals at conference tournament

ANKENY, Iowa - Aaron Smith breezed to the quarterfinals and four additional wins were picked up at the men's tennis Iowa Conference Tournament on Friday.

In Flight C of the singles bracket, Aaron Smith beat out Colin Hensel (NWU) 6-3, 6-1 and Zach Henderson (BVU) 6-2, 6-0 in the first and second round, respectively. Smith finished his winning streak after being defeated by Luther's Kaelen Wilson 6-1, 6-1 in the quarter final round.

Sam Dykstra and Reade Reiter also picked up wins for the Storm. Dykstra won against Sean Baldwin (Loras) 6-2, 6-4 before falling to Sakchham Karki (Luther) in the second round of the Flight B singles bracket. Reiter also picked up a win in Flight C against Andrew Boell (BVU) 6-2, 6-0 before dropping out of the tournament in the second round to Kris Weeden (Central).

Competing in Flight B of the doubles bracket, Adam Weiser and Reiter picked up the fourth win of the day, topping the doubles team of Michael Runde and Matt Wodkowski (Loras) 8-1.
