STORM LAKE, Iowa – Tabitha Blaser had 12 kills, the only Simpson player in double figures, as Buena Vista won 3-0 in volleyball action on Wednesday night.
After a tough first set, Simpson stuck with Buena Vista, but couldn't get over the hump in the 25-19, 25-22, 25-23 loss.
Blaser hit .312, her highest output against a conference opponent this season. MacKenzie McGraw added six kills for the Storm (8-9, 1-2 Iowa Conference), who saw a nine-game winning streak in the series come to a close.
Maddie Bardole and Jade Schaap combined for 30 kills to lead the Beavers (14-8, 2-1). Bardole finished with 17 kills and 12 digs and Schaap had 13 and 11. Laura Barry had 42 assists.
Simpson is off this weekend and returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Dubuque.
