Men’s volleyball makes program debut at home

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's volleyball team took the court for the first time in program history on Friday night inside Cowles Fieldhouse.

The Storm challenged Mount Mercy, which came into the night with an 11-4 record and six seasons under its belt, in a pair of games. The Mustangs swept both matches, recording set wins of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-9 in the first game before winning 25-5, 25-10 and 25-8 in the nightcap.

Anthony Potratz knocked down eight of Simpson's 18 kills on the night and tallied both a solo block and a block assist. Darin Gordon was next in the kills department with three, and Cody Durbin, Max Robinson and Alex Aguirre each had two.

Along with his two kills, Robinson recorded 13 assists and five digs. Treye Teske led the Storm on defense with seven digs, while Rylee Carlson had six and Durbin added five.
