Men’s soccer moves up to fifth in regional rankings

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Simpson men's soccer team moved up two spots to No. 5 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches North Region rankings, released Tuesday. Simpson is also receiving votes in the D3soccer.com Top 25 Poll.

Simpson debuted at No. 8 in the poll, moved up two spots to No. 6, then dropped to No. 7. After wins over Iowa Wesleyan and Dubuque last week, the Storm reached their highest ranking at No. 5 and improved to 11-0-1 on the season after Wednesday's 2-1 win over Nebraska Wesleyan.

St. Thomas (Minn.) is ranked first in the region, followed by Macalester, Wartburg and Luther.

The Storm are receiving 42 votes in the D3soccer.com Top 25 Poll.

Head coach Rick Isaacson and the Storm travel to Buena Vista on Saturday, Oct. 7 before returning home for a non-conference contest against Concordia-Moorhead on Sunday.
