INDIANOLA, Iowa - Tyler Neumann became Simpson's career-leader in assists and the Storm put together a dominating effort, beating Coe 3-0 on Friday.
The Storm (7-8-2, 2-2-1 Iowa Conference) outshot Coe 29-1, picking up their second straight win to move one step closer to qualifying for the conference tournament. The back-to-back wins are the first for Simpson since opening the season with three straight wins.
With Simpson leading 1-0, Neumann slotted a cross to Darius Doswell in the 52nd minute for his 22nd career assist, passing Corey Miller (2006-09) and Henry Petersen (2000-03) for first on Simpson's all-time list. The senior ranks fourth all-time with 80 career points.
Garrett Pochop put Simpson on the board in the 30th minute with a rocket from 20 yards out. Doswell's left-footer off Neumann's cross made 2-0 and Collin Hemann went upper 90 off a set piece just outside the 18-yard box with four seconds remaining.
Austin Schafer and Chris Harris combined for the easy shutout as the Kohawks (4-10-1, 1-4-0) failed to put a shot on frame.
