Lindenman wins men's golf invitational

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Trent Lindenman birdied two of the final four holes to edge Coe's Hunter Livermore by two strokes, winning the Simpson Fall Invitational and leading the Simpson men's golf team to a second-place finish Wednesday.

Lindenman carded a 1-under 70 at Indianola Country Club to win the fifth tournament of his career. He trailed Livermore by a stroke after the front nine but shot 3-under on the back. Lindenman birdied the par-4 15th and the par-3 18th to seal medalist honors.

Simpson shot 304 as a team, five strokes off the pace set by team champion Wartburg. The Storm finished a stroke ahead of Grand View.

Shaan Desai and Korbin Sesker tied for 10th, each shooting 6-over 77. Desai finished with four birdies while Sesker enjoyed a steady day with 12 pars.

Mitchell Brown and Marshall Kray each shot 79 to tie for 18th and Nick Hartman carded an 80 to tie for 22nd. Miller Hatcher shot 82 and Blake Bender 84.

The home tournament concluded Simpson's fall schedule.
