Track and field teams alter schedule, go to Central on Thursday

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson track and field teams have cancelled their trip to Cornell on Saturday and instead will compete in Central's last-minute meet, the Weather Saver Invitational, on Thursday, April 5 in Pella.

With temperatures not set to exceed the mid-30s on Saturday, Central created the new meet to take advantage of a more favorable forecast.

Field events will begin at 2 p.m. with running events slated for a 3 p.m. start. The invitational will be held at the Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium. There is a possibility the pole vault and high jump competitions will be contested inside H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.

Participating teams include Central, Grand View, William Penn and Indian Hills CC.
