Storm trio finish in top 20 at Les Duke Invitational

GRINNELL, Iowa – The trio of Emma Angus, Teghan Booth and Ashley Rockhold finished in the top 20 to lead the Simpson College women's cross country team at the Les Duke Invitational on Saturday.

Angus took ninth place with a time of 24:02.5 and Booth crossed the finish line in 24:40.4 to place 12th. Rockhold gave the Storm their third top 20 finish with a time of 24:47.0 that was good enough for 19th place.

"It was an outstanding day for our women," said head coach Heath Moenck. "Emma Angus, Teghan Booth and Ashley Rockhold were an awesome trio up front. We are a long way from a finished product, which is exciting for the success we can have during the championship part of our season."

Emily Erhardt (25:15.8) and Kate Huisinga (25:44.7) rounded out the top five for Simpson with 24th and 32nd placings, respectively.

Central won the team title with 47 points followed by Truman State (53) and Wartburg (74). Grinnell (88) bested Simpson by eight points, and Des Moines CC and Cornell finished out the team standings.
