Fleshner earns IIAC Performer of the Week honor
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson's Bayley Fleshner won the 60-meter hurdles at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday and on Tuesday she was recognzied as the Iowa Conference Track Performer of the Week.
A junior from Rockwell, Iowa (West Fork HS), Fleshner ran a season-best time of 9.21 seconds in the win. Her time is the fourth-fasted in the Iowa Conference this season and currently is tied for 33rd in Division III. She also took third in the long jump (16-0 1/4) as one of the hanful of Simpson athletes in competition last week.
Fleshner joins the rest of her team this week as the Storm head back to Grinnell for the Darren Young Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15.
