Roberts breaks into national rankings

INDIANOLA, Iowa - For the first time in his career, Brett Roberts is a nationally-ranked wrestler.

A senior 184-pounder from Ottumwa, Iowa, Roberts is ranked No. 9 in the National Wrestling Coaches Assocation (NWCA) Division III Rankings released Dec. 9. Roberts is the first wrestler to earn a top-10 ranking in the NWCA poll under fourth-year head coach Nate Hansen.

Roberts is currently 7-2 on the season and most recently placed second at the Buena Vista Open. His signature win of the season is a pin over then-No. 8 Bryan Levsen of Wartburg on Nov. 18. Roberts - who moved up a weight class from 174 as a junior - is 61-45 during his career.

Simpson hosts the Luther L. Hill Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 12.
