Simpson seventh after two rounds at IIAC Championship

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (Oct. 2, 2010) - Cool, windy conditions ruled on the second day of the Iowa Conference Women's Golf Championship on Saturday, as Simpson sits in seventh place after round two at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.

The Storm followed up their opening-day 362 with a 366, 74 strokes behind round two leader, Wartburg (654). Central is second (358), followed by Luther (688), Loras (700), Coe (716) and Buena Vista (717). Simpson leads Dubuque (787) and Cornell (791).

Kayla Miller (Odebolt, Iowa) leads Simpson, holding on to a 1-stroke lead for 21st place after shooting 180 (89-91). Molly Hill (Norwalk, Iowa) and Jenni Stumpf (Rolfe, Iowa) sit in a four-way tie for 23rd at 184, as Hill shot a 91 Friday and a 93 Saturday and Stumpf carded a 92 each day. Chelsy Manny (Winterset, Iowa) is tied for 32nd with a 188 (98-90) and Stacey Bergeson (Ackley, Iowa) is 34th with a 189 (90-99).

The IIAC Championship continues Friday-Saturday, Oct. 8-9 at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly. Tee times begin at 10:00 a.m. with players from Simpson, Dubuque, and Cornell off in the first flight followed by golfers from Loras, Coe, and Buena Vista. The final flight will consist of golfers from Luther, Central, and Wartburg. Saturday's tee times will be set using the 54-hole team scores with individual team lineups set by the 54-hole medalist leaderboard.
