Due to poor course conditions at Water Works Park in Des Moines, the Viking Invitational scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16 will now be run at Pickard Park in Indianola, co-hosted by Simpson and Grand View. The women's race is set to get underway at 5 p.m. with the men to follow at approximately 5:45.

The Simpson cross country teams started the 2016 season by sweeping its own Bill Buxton Invitational at Pickard Park. Sadie Timms won the women’s 4k race while Trey Thompson won the men’s 6k, in which the Storm owned the top five finishers.
