Simpson bested by league-leading Kohawks

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's tennis team continued its spring schedule on Monday, taking on the Coe Kohawks on its home courts at Buxton Tennis Complex.

The Kohawks, who sit atop the American Rivers Conference standings, bested the Storm with a 7-2 conquest. Coe (14-8, 7-0 A-R-C) won all three doubles matches as well as the first four in singles competition.

Drake Downard was the first to put the Storm (1-11, 0-5 A-R-C) on the board with back-to-back set wins at No. 5 singles, winning 6-4 and 6-3 over Bode Carter. Chase Henry closed things out with a straight-set win of his own in the No. 6 slot. He defeated Sam Koeppl 6-2, 6-0.
