Storm grab first A-R-C triumph in spring slate

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson College men's tennis collected its second win in two days on Saturday after earning a 7-2 victory over Buena Vista.

The Storm (4-9, 1-4 A-R-C) evened their home record while capturing their first American Rivers Conference win of the season.

In doubles action, the No. 2 duo of Reade Reiter and Brett Dewerff and the No. 3 pair of Peter Walkwitz and Ethan Humble won both of their matches 8-1 for the early 2-1 tilt over the Beavers (1-5, 1-4 A-R-C).

Simpson only dropped one match in singles play. Dewerff (No. 6), Humble (No. 5) and Walkwitz (No. 4) all won in straight sets without losing a game.

Caleb Vasconez ushered 6-4, 6-1 set scores to win at No. 3 singles for his third victory of the year in the slot. Aaron Price was busy in a battle at No. 2 singles. He lost the first set, but fought back to win 6-2, 10-1 for the victory.
