Men’s tennis concludes play at IIAC Individual Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The duo of Jeff Armstrong and Connor Barnard finished third in Flight B Doubles and Geoff Converse came in fourth in Flight C Singles to lead the Simpson men's tennis team on the final day of the 2014 Iowa Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday.

Armstrong and Barnard dropped a tough 9-7 decision to the Buzzard/Bieber duo from Buena Vista in the semifinals and earned third place via walkover.

Converse also fell in his semifinals match, losing to eventual champion Robby Steffes of Buena Vista. He ended up in fourth place after a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Chris Schirm of Coe.
