Storm finish up competition at Grinnell
GRINNELL, Iowa - The Simpson College men's swimming and diving team finished up its first competition in 2024 at the Grinnell Invite on Saturday afternoon.
Christopher Olds set a new career-best in the 100 yard breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:13.94 in the final, helping lead multiple Simpson swimmers that qualified for finals.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Olds lowered his career-best in the 100 yard breaststroke prelims and then beat that again by almost a second in the final.
- Jay Ceperley set a season-best in the 100 yard butterfly, swimming a 57.58 in the final.
- Ceperley and teammate Gabe Bruns each qualified for another final, with Ceperley swimming a 23.80 in the 50 yard freestyle and Bruns a 2:07.75 in the 200 yard freestyle.
- Overall, the men took sixth place, defeating fellow conference opponent Coe.
