Simpson men set multiple season-bests

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Simpson College men's swimming and diving team saw every one of its competitors on the day set a season-best in at least one event in a dual meet against Nebraska Wesleyan.

The Storm dropped the overall tally against the Prairie Wolves, but saw improved performances in many events since the start of the season. "We are incredibly happy with how we did coming off of a very challenging week of practice," said Storm head coach Adam Cvetich. "Now we are going to rest up and go fast at Grinnell next month."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jay Ceperley set a season-best in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.97.
  • He followed it up with a second-place performance in the 100 yard freestyle in a time of 52.37.
  • Christopher Olds also set season-bests in two events, with a 26.22 in the 50 yard freestyle and a 2:02.81 in the 200 yard freestyle.
  • Gabe Bruns clocked a 2:04.85 in the 200 yard freestyle for a season-best.
  • Senior Nathan Parkins also swam a 28.70 in the 50 yard freestyle and a 1:21.97 in the 100 yard breaststroke, both season-bests.
