Simpson cheer and dance compete at A-R-C Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Simpson College cheer and dance programs traveled to Waverly to compete at the 2024 American Rivers Conference Competitive Cheer and Dance Championships on Sunday.

For the second year in row, the Storm dancers finished third in the conference champion race, which is determined by each team's average score from the pom and jazz routines. Simpson improved its average from last year by over three points, tying with Wartburg for third overall with a 74.05.

The Storm's highest scoring routine was in the hip-hop division (75.25), but Simpson's highest placing was third in jazz (73.40). The team took fifth in hip-hop and pom (74.70).

Simpson's cheer squad took third place in their lone performance of the day, a 2.5 minute routine. The Storm scored a 29.60.
