Storm offense can't get rolling in loss to Loras

INDIANOLA, Iowa – A stellar offensive effort from freshman Tabitha Blaser went for naught on Wednesday as Loras handed Simpson a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-16) volleyball loss at Cowles Fieldhouse.

An outside hitter, Blaser finished with 14 of the team's 34 kills and hit a sparkling .458 for the Storm (7-17, 1-4 Iowa Conference), who suffered their fourth straight conference loss.

Regan Riley and Kara Grant had nine kills apiece and Kirsten Schultz had six of the team's 16 blocks for the Duhawks (9-12, 3-2).

Simpson suffered similar fates in the first two sets, playing evenly through the early stages before stumbling down the stretch.

The first set was tied 15-15 before Loras went on a 7-2 run to open the gap. The second set was nearly identical. Tied 15-15, Loras went on a 6-2 run and again, Simpson couldn't recover.

Loras led from start to finish in the third set to secure a second consecutive win and move above .500 in conference play.

Katie Kieffer had 25 assists, Kim Rogers led the team with 15 digs and MacKenzie McGraw had a team-high three blocks for Simpson.

The Storm travel to the North Central Invitational in Naperville, Ill. this weekend.
