Bio
Three-time National Assistant Coach of the Year, Guy Mosher, returns to Simpson College in the fall of 2022 as an assistant coach on the track and field staff. Mosher will work with the sprints and horizontal jumps.
Mosher's 38 years of experience and his resume speaks for itself. In addition to his first coaching stint at Simpson, he has also coached at Central College, University of Northern Iowa, and most recently the University of Central Missouri, where former Storm athletes Kip Janvrin and Kirk Pederson were Co-Head Coaches of the track and field team.
Between his time at NCAA DI, DII, and DIII, Mosher has coached 245 All-Americans and 20 NCAA national champions. The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recognized Mosher on several occasions for his athletes' outstanding results. He was named the NCAA DIII National Assistant Coach of the Year three times, and the Midwest Regional Coach of the Year four times.
In addition to his extensive experience at the collegiate level, Mosher also coached athletes on the international level. In 1997 he was selected as the coach for the U.S.A. Junior Decathlon Team against Canada. In 1998, Mosher coached the U.S.A. Decathlon team to a prestigious Thorpe Cup victory. Most notably, Mosher coached Olympian, and Simpson College alumni, Kip Janvrin in the decathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Mosher is an NSCA certified strength coach.
