Men’s cross country cracks regional rankings at No. 8

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson men's cross country team broke into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Central Region rankings at No. 8, the association announced Tuesday.

USTFCCCA Regional Rankings — Week 4

Previously unranked, the Storm are ranked in the in-season poll for the first time in school history. Simpson opened the season at No. 8 in the preseason rankings, but dropped out of the top 10 by the time the first regular season rankings rolled around.

Simpson's rise in the poll comes after its performance at the Dan Huston Invitational on Sept. 29. The Storm placed fifth of 19 teams, beating regionally-ranked Grinnell and Gustavus Adolphus in the process.

Simpson is off this weekend before returning to action Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Drews/Neubauer Invitational in Ettrick, Wis.
