Love leads Simpson against Duhawks, Spartans
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Grant Love won three of four matches to lead the Simpson College men's tennis team in a couple of home competitions against Loras and Dubuque.
The Storm (1-11, 0-6 A-R-C) fell 8-1 to Loras (7-11, 2-3 A-R-C) on Friday before dropping a tight 5-4 match against Dubuque (4-9, 1-4 A-R-C) on Saturday at Buxton Tennis Complex.
Love was the lone Simpson player to earn a win against the Duhawks, beating Lucas Healy 6-0 and 6-4 at No. 3 singles. He extended his singles win streak to three with another straight set victory over Alexander Hardin (6-3, 6-0) on Saturday.
At No. 1 doubles, Love and Javier Robles Solis fell 8-4 to Loras' Gage Becker and Thomas Kampmier, but bounced back with a three-set victory against Pedwar Castillo and Ryan Kiddle of Dubuque. The duo took the first set 6-3 and won the tiebreaker in the third set after falling 6-2 in the second.

The Storm have one more day of competition next Saturday as they travel to Wartburg and Coe to close the season.
