Nelson breaks own record, Storm fall to No. 9 St. Ambrose

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Noah Nelson broke his own school record and the Simpson men's swimming and diving won three events in the loss against ninth ranked NAIA St. Ambrose 121-64 Saturday afternoon at the Indianola YMCA.

Nelson broke a school record in the third straight meet, breaking his own mark while winning the 200 IM. Nelson's time of 2:00.25 shaves off 1.97 seconds from his previous school record.

Nelson also took the gold in his second win of the afternoon in the 200 breaststroke, coming in a staggering 12.44 seconds ahead of the competition.

Freshman Nick Keller claimed the Storm's third win of the afternoon, taking first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.28. Keller crushed the previous top time of 2:26.72 this year set by Blake Kakacek back in the first meet on Oct. 21.
