INDIANOLA, Iowa - Andy Hutchins and Trent Lindenman each carded a 3-over 74 to tie for first in the individual race as Simpson won the Simpson Spring Invitational over Coe on Wednesday.

Hutchins won the tiebreaker over Lindenman as Simpson's varsity team fired a 312 to win the one-round tournament.

Hutchins finished the day strong, making birdie on 13 and 15 at a windy Indianola Country Club. His birdie on 13 gave him the win over Lindenman, who shot a five on the second handicap hole. Both players carded a five on the first handicap hole, No. 3.

Hutchins trailed Lindenman by two strokes on the front nine but fired a 36 on the back for his lowest round of the spring.

The reigning Iowa Conference Golfer of the Week, Lindenman made three birdies on the day, shooting 36 on the front nine and 38 on the back.
