
Seven named to IIAC Winter All-Academic Team
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Simpson placed seven student-athletes on the Iowa Conference All-Academic Team for the winter 2013-14 season.
To be eligible for IIAC All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must compete at the varsity level, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have at least one academic year in residence, and attain a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
The women's basketball team led the way with four honorees, followed by three members of the swimming team.
Of those student-athletes on the all-academic team, Morgan Terpstra was also a First Team All-Iowa Conference pick in women's basketball.
The conference recognized 87 student-athletes in all. Simpson has placed 57 student-athletes on the team in 2013-14 to-date after 50 were selected in the fall.
