Wright leads Storm in trio of weekend matches

DECORAH, Iowa - Kennedi Wright led the Simpson women's tennis team after a trio of matches, including two in the American Rivers Conference, this weekend.

The Storm (2-8, 2-6 A-R-C) dropped the three matches, with two conference decisions going against them versus Luther and Wartburg.

The Storm saw better results in the non-conference match against St. Ambrose, but still fell by a 8-1 mark.

After dropping all three doubles matches, the Storm responded with brave singles performances. Half of the Simpson lineup won at least one set in their matches, with Wright winning the set three tiebreak, 11-9, at No. 3 singles.

Bella Tranquilino at No. 1 singles and Donni Kinghorn at No. 2 singles each won the first set of their matches, but unfortunately lost the second sets and tiebreaks of each of their matches.

The Storm now gear up for the A-R-C Individual Tournament, beginning next Friday back at Luther.
