Marquez, Brockhouse named A-R-C Players of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson women's soccer players Dani Marquez and Aspen Brockhouse earned American Rivers Conference Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 7. Marquez took home Offensive Player of the Week recognition while Brockhouse earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The duo helped the Storm go 2-0 last week with wins over Nebraska Wesleyan (1-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 3) and Buena Vista (3-0 on Friday, Oct. 5). The wins marked the first back-to-back conference wins for the Storm since 2011.

Dani Marquez | Offensive Player of the Week
• Junior forward from Denver, Colo.
• Scored goals in each of Simpson's wins
• Scored the game-winner against Nebraska Wesleyan with 12 seconds left in regulation
• Added an insurance goal in the win over Buena Vista
• Becomes the first Storm player to win the award since Amber Johnson on Sept. 23, 2012

Aspen Brockhouse | Defensive Player of the Week
• Freshman goalkeeper from Urbandale, Iowa
• Recorded back-to-back shutouts in wins over Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista
• Made three saves in each win
• Ranks second in the A-R-C in goals against average (.738) and save percentage (.846)
• Becomes the first Storm player to win the award since Stephanie Cox on Oct. 20, 2013
