Storm suffer narrow defeat at Luther

DECORAH, Iowa -- Aspen Brockhouse made seven saves but the Simpson women's soccer team couldn't find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Luther on Wednesday night.

Marta Springer scored the only goal of the night early in the second half as the Norse (3-6-3, 3-1 American Rivers) escaped with a narrow win. The Storm (4-8, 2-3) saw their winning streak come to a close at two games.

Springer's goal came in the 50th minute off an assist from Maggie Anderson.

Simpson came out of the gates strong, taking two shots and getting two corner kicks in the first 3 minutes. Baileigh Nagy, Emma Fleddermann, Dani Marquez and Tatum Tremain all took shots for the Storm. Marquez was responsible for the lone shot on frame.

Luther outshot Simpson 18-4 on the night.
