Rasmussen named A-R-C Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Junior Haley Rasmussen has been named the American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week as well as Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

This is her first time earning player of the week honors from the conference.

Rasmussen averaged 20.0 points per game across a 2-1 week for the Storm (3-3). Throughout the week, she was 13 of 23 from behind the arc, going 5-for-8 in Simpson's 63-56 win at Central and 7-for-10 in a 67-56 win at Wis.-La Crosse. She also added nine rebounds, six assists, five steals, and a block.

The Atlantic, Iowa native has scored in double figures in all but one game thus far, including back-to-back 20-point performances this past week. Her only game without double-digit scoring was in a blowout win over Faith Baptist Bible, which she only played eight minutes. She currently ranks third in the conference with 15.7 points per game and 46.2 percentage shooting from deep.

The Storm are set to host two league foes this week beginning with Coe on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Simpson will then welcome Dubuque on Saturday afternoon for a 2:00 p.m. tip.
