Annual Balloon Challenge 5K Road Race set for July 27

The Simpson Cross Country program will host the annual Balloon Challenge as part of the National Balloon Classic on July 27.

The 5K road race begins at 7 p.m. with packet pick-up at Simpson's Cowles Center from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on race day. Participants can pre-register for $20 (postmarked by July 21) or register for $25 the day of the race. Registration includes a t-shirt and admission into the National Balloon Classic, held Friday, July 27 - Saturday, Aug. 4. 

The course follows a flat, L-shaped loop beginning and ending on the Simpson College campus.

145 runners took part in the event last year.
